Our reserved blocks at the hotels listed below are now closed

We have made arrangements for reduced rates at three local lodging facilities covering a range of experiences for our guests.  The main hotel option is the Pacific Beach Hotel, with room rates starting at $177 (+ taxes and fees).  For a more resort-like experience, we have a smaller block of hotel rooms at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, with rates starting at $259 (+ taxes and fees), depending on the view. For the budget traveler, more spartan rooms are also available at Lincoln Hall on the UH Manoa campus, within walking distance of the IfA (1 mile).

Pacific Beach Hotel

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Pacific Beach Hotel for participants from off island. Follow this Google Map link for directions.  The IfA’s block of rooms will be held until May 27.

The rate for the Pacific Beach Hotel is $177 per night (standard / partial ocean view), subject to hotel room tax and excise tax of 13.962% plus porterage fee of $9.95 per person.  This is the US Federal allowed rate for Waikiki.  The rate is based on single or double occupancy; the additional charge for adults is $50/day each (max of 4 total).  Rates will be honored June 27, 2017 – July 1, 2017, and if rooms are available may be extended to June 24 – July 4.  Parking will be discounted 50% (currently prevailing rates are $25 self, $33 valet). This hotel will be undergoing renovations in the lobby, and main restaurant will be unavailable. However the breakfast area will be available.

Hilton Hawaiian Village

For travelers looking for the experience of a resort atmosphere, we also have a small block of rooms at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.  Room rates start at $259 per night (+ taxes and fees). Information on how to reserve through our block can be found by following this link.  Please note that Hilton requires 1 night deposit and full payment 30 days prior to arrival.

Lincoln Hall at UH Manoa

For the traveler on a tight budget, we also have some rooms held at Lincoln Hall on UH Manoa campus.  Follow this Google Maps link for directions.  These are dorm rooms with private bath, with a maximum of two people per room. The conditions are a bit rough, with no A/C and no good parking options other than the normal campus parking structure.  Nearby food options consist of Paradise Palms (student dinner facility next to Hamilton Library), open 8am to 2pm, along with food trucks available from 10am – 2pm.  More distant walkable options are available at Manoa Marketplace (1 mile by foot).

Studio rooms with double bed and private bathroom are $56 / night.  Reservations may be made for the nights of July 27, 28, 29, 30.  IfA’s block on these rooms is in place through April 15, and only a total of 20 rooms available, so book early if you want this option.

• 60 nights or more prior to arrival : no charge
• 59 – 30 nights prior to arrival : 1 night charged per room
• less than 30 nights prior to arrival : 2 nights charged per room
